BNXN and Ruger, two of Nigeria’s most talented musicians, have recently hinted at another possible collaboration after there first collaboration. With a single which is titled “Romeo Must Die”. This news has also brought much excitement to their fans. This news comes as a surprise to many, considering their history of public beefs and online disagreements in the past.
BNXN, formerly Buju, is a Nigerian Afro-fusion singer and songwriter has significantly impacted the Nigerian music scene. He collaborates with artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Timaya etc. Meanwhile, Nigerian Afro-dancehall artist Roger gained popularity after signing with D Prince’s record label, Jonzing World, in 2021. His hit singles, “Bounce” and “Dior,” have gained a large fanbase.
In the past, the two prominent artistes have been beefing each other on social media via X (twitter) before their recent collaboration tease. It is known that they exchanged words on the social media platform.
End of a Beef: BNXN and Ruger Collaborate After Online Quarrel
In 2022, a beef between BNXN and Ruger caused a stir online as both artists took jabs at each other. Ruger advised BNXN to pursue a solo career instead of relying on collaborations for hit songs and even went as far as mocking him with derogatory remarks. In response, BNXN referred to Ruger as a foolish musician and boasted that he was superior to him and his record label, Jonzing World. The beef persisted even after BNXN won the NextRated award at the 15th Headies Awards, beating out Ruger.
Their recent collaboration marked the end of their beef and quarrel. The post, which features BNXN and Ruger together, includes a caption that reads “MAYBE ROMEO MUST DIE,”. Which hinted a possible collaboration between the two artistes.
This potential collaboration is a significant moment in Nigerian music because two talented artists come together to create new music, leaving their past disagreements behind. On April 8, 2024, Buju teased another collaboration with Ruger, which would be released on April 11, 2024.
