Burna Boy, the renowned Afrobeat superstar, is stepping into the world of filmmaking with his debut movie production “3 Cold Dishes.” This exciting venture marks a new chapter in Burna Boy’s career, showcasing his versatility and creativity beyond the music industry. This is a surprising move into filmmaking, by the Afrobeats superstar. Black Mic Mac, a content company focused on film and TV productions by African and Middle Eastern talent, has announced that Burna Boy will executive produce their forthcoming thriller, “3 Cold Dishes.”
“3 Cold Dishes,” directed by Asurf Oluseyi and penned by Tomi Adesina, unfolds a gripping narrative across Nigeria, the Republic of Benin, and Côte d’Ivoire. The film centers on three teenagers who, after enduring the horrors of sex trafficking, reunite thirteen years later to exact their revenge. Presented in French, Yoruba, and English, this thriller is a collaborative effort by Black Mic Mac, Ifind, Alma Prods., Asurf Films, and Martian Network. Burna Boy, through Spaceship Films, the company he co-founded with his mother Bose Ogulu, will serve as the executive producer.
The cast features top Nollywood actors such as Osas Ighodaro, Wale Ojo, Femi Jacobs, Ruby Akubueze, Brutus Richards, and Greg Ojefua. Additionally, the film includes talent from Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal.
