Mavin Records, one of Africa’s most influential record labels, is celebrating 12 years of transforming the music landscape. Founded in 2012 by legendary producer Don Jazzy, Mavin Records has been at the forefront of discovering and nurturing some of the continent’s most celebrated musical talents.

Over the past 12 years, Mavin Rrecords has established itself as a powerhouse in the Afrobeats genre and music scene, home to artists like Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, and Ladipoe. Under the leadership of Chief Operating Officer Tega Oghenejobo, the label has continued to push the boundaries of African music, supporting its artists to achieve remarkable milestones.

Rema, one of Mavin’s breakout stars, has become the youngest Afrobeats act to sell out London’s O2 Arena and the first to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify for his hit single “Calm Down.” Meanwhile, Ayra Starr has cemented her status as a rising star, with various releases and her sophomore album set for release this year. Other artist too, such as Crayon, Ladipoe etc have also been breaking boundaries with there music.

Furthermore, Mavin Records’ 2019 partnership with Kupanda Holdings was key in providing the label’s artists with the resources and support needed to succeed in the competitive music industry.

In addition, Oghenejobo, stated that “Our goal is to help more artists reach and exceed these achievements,” “Given the unpredictable nature of our business, we make a point of showing up and giving it our all, staying vigilant against complacency.”
